Paul F. DeRubeis

Paul is the former director of bands at Rochester College and retired in 2014 from Bloomfield Hills Schools after 38 years of teaching band. During his tenure, he received distinction as the MSBOA District IV Band Teacher of the year in 2003 and 2010. He continues to serve as a guest conductor, adjudicator, clinician, and instructor of low brass, and is a member of the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA), as well as an emeritus member of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra (MSBOA). He has presented numerous sessions at the Midwestern Conference on Music and Michigan Music Conference, and serves as a committee chair for MSBOA activities at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival at Western Michigan University. In April, he was the guest conductor of the Motor City Symphony Orchestra for their annual youth concerts. Paul performs on trombone and euphonium in the St. Mary of the Hills Brass Choir, Southeastern Michigan Wind Ensemble and the North Oakland Community Concert Band.
